Unleash Human Potential, One Kid at a Time

Sigma Academy‘s mission is to enable under-privileged high school students into a career in science and engineering. They achieve this by providing residential coaching and mentoring in Bhubaneswar completely free to under-privileged children from rural areas for two years during their +2 school years. The candidate children are rigorously selected based on aptitude tests and their financial situation. In addition to the basic math and science that the kids need to learn in order to be successful in getting into colleges, they also learn valuable life skills that are necessary to be successful in professional life.

The Team

Sigma Academy was founded by the husband-wife team Bishnupada Rath and Dipali Dash, graduates from NIT Rourkela and UCE Burla respectively. Afters successful professional careers, they found their calling to give back to the society by helping under-privileged, but intelligent school students get a chance at higher education. Student Achievements

While this undertaking is extremely challenging due to the apprehension of the lower-income families the students come from, Bishnu Rath and Dipali Dash work tirelessly with the students to motivate them to achieve their true potential. Many students have gotten admissions into B. Sc. (Physics) and Engineering colleges and some have been placed at companies such as InfoSys and TCS. How can you help?

IASF provides scholarships to cover the living expenses for the students during their 2-year stay at Sigma. This is where you come in. You can donate funds to IASF to sponsor these scholarships. The cost to support a single student is:

• $700 for 1 year
